Through coaching thousands of people I have come to realize something about human nature:
We believe we have 30 problems arising from 20 wounds, but in truth we have ONE CORE pattern, one core wound, one thing at the root, that expresses itself in a million different ways.
I like to say:
The way you love is the way you handle money. The way you follow your soul’s calling. The way you treat your own body.
The same anxiety in a relationship that usually exists around money, exists around stepping into your calling, and reveals itself in your relationship with your own body.
But most people have a blindspot about their core wound.
Why?
It is a form of self-protection.
I have seen it again and again: People who are incredibly intelligent, wise, aware of themselves and their patterns, but there is one core pattern, one core wound that could not be more obvious, and something inside them didn’t allow them to see it clearly.
If you work with people in any capacity, whether as a leader, guide, or just as colleagues, you would have seen how some people protect themselves from having to face their core pattern and wound.
This is normal.
Because facing a core pattern makes them really vulnerable.
For someone to admit to themselves:
Actually… the anxiety I carry in my intimate life, I experience it each time I check whether the email reply came back in… When I worry about my health leaving me… Here are all the ways I try to control this anxiety…
This is not easy! There is a form of ego death by you fully sitting with this. And yet it is the most powerful inner work people can do.
The most powerful work is always PRACTICAL. There is nothing complicated about it. If it is too complex, it is probably not the deepest work.
When I picked up on this theme in every client and group I coached, I realized something:
People want help with their challenges. But the moment something touches the core, self-protection mechanisms inside them get activated, thus bypassing them facing the core. So if the person helping them is not skilled at knowing exactly how to get past this stage, no true transformation can ever take place.
I am the kind of person who does not accept superficiality. If someone asks me for help, I will serve them at the highest level. I will not tolerate staying at the surface. I owe it to their soul.
