Trusting the Journey & Making Aligned Decisions

Trusting the Journey & Making Aligned Decisions

February 21, 2025 //  by Lorin Krenn

Yesterday, my wife Liliana and I had a date night, and naturally, our conversation turned to the deep journey we’ve been on together.

Over the last few years, we’ve faced significant external challenges, not between us, but in life. At times, these situations pushed our nervous systems toward the limit. In all honesty, only our spiritual work saved us.

Upon reflection, we both came upon the same realization: Every challenge, no matter how difficult, carried profound insights and teachings.

It reminded me of the old, almost cliché saying:
“Trust the process. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. The journey matters more than the destination.”

I’ve heard this adage countless times, and I’m sure you have too. But the real question is:

  • Are we truly embodying it?
  • Or are we just holding it as a mental concept?

Because here’s the thing:

In every moment, especially during challenges, there is a deeper process unfolding within us. You might call it the evolution of the soul or the expansion of consciousness.

But this process is subtle.

It doesn’t come with recognition, validation, or awards.
And yet, it changes everything—our perception, our relationships, our ability to express love. The process opens our hearts.

Life is never just happening to us. It is shaping us, preparing us, expanding us.
Trusting the journey does not mean just surrendering to the chaos.
While life unfolds in its own divine timing, the choices we make along the way still matter.

This is where we’ve found the greatest lesson.

Any decision that does not support the well-being of our nervous system and body, is misaligned with our highest good. Regardless of how much we try to justify it, it is almost always the wrong choice.

For Liliana and me, this realization became a guiding principle.
So now, whenever we face big decisions, we filter them through three essential questions.

  • Does this support our nervous system?
  • Does this support our freedom?
  • Does this support our union?

If the answer is yes, we move forward with clarity.
If the answer is no, we ask if we can adjust it to align with our well-being.
If there is no way to align it, we walk away.

Trusting the journey does not mean being passive. It means knowing when to surrender and when to take aligned action.

Reflection for You:

  • What happens inside you when challenges arise?
  • Do you trust that everything is happening for you, or do you slip into unconscious reactions?
  • Do you have a way of ensuring you’re making aligned decisions? If yes, how? If not, what’s one step you can take right now to create deeper alignment?
