The Boy in the Man’s Body

Here is a harsh truth: Most men don’t feel like a man, they still feel like a boy in a grown up body.

This is not a judgement. It is a fundamental truth about one of the greatest challenges men face in today’s world.

I have felt it. Not just a little bit but enormously. I know how painful and frustrating it feels.

Most men experience this.

But they have never named it, or seen it with that clarity.

A man can move out of his parent’s home, build a successful career, create a family on his own, and still feel like a boy deep within.

Is this just a feeling? No. It is a visceral metaphor of what is occurring energetically.

You see, energy does not care about age. Just because the body is getting older, does not mean we are becoming more mature and wiser energetically. When the soul is not expanding, nothing truly grows or changes. 

What is happening here? A powerful example:

A man experiences deep mother or father wounding in his teenage or earlier years. He then moves out of home, creates a life and path of his own, yet keeps trying to mask this deeper level of insecurity and unworthiness he feels within. And at some point, the masking no longer works. The pain becomes stronger, demanding to be felt, demanding to be healed, demanding to be grounded and integrated. At some point he can no longer bear this insecure and unsafe feeling. 

At a spiritual level that same man might be 13 years old because that boy is still stuck in time.

Again this is not a judgement. Neither a generalization. And it doesn’t mean he is 13 years old in every area, but in his intimate life he might likely be.

As men we need to look at the areas in our life where we are still showing up as the little boy who wasn’t seen, wasn’t respected, wasn’t met with presence and love.

The greatest act of service for our own heart, the feminine, and all around us, is to allow this boy to be integrated. This version that is still reacting as a 13 year old needs to come home, to become fully man.

And then this feeling of insecurity starts to dissipate. A man becomes a man in every possible way. Or in better and more correct, precise words, he feels like a powerful man because he is one.

The world, the feminine, and life will keep testing us on this. And beneath the test is the question: 

Are you willing to become fully man, to embody your divine masculine nature in every area of your life?
