Stop Forcing Love, Life, and Abundance

Stop Forcing Love, Life, and Abundance

January 14, 2026 //  by Lorin Krenn

I was recently saying to my wife that this time of year feels strange.

People speak about slowing down, resting, spending meaningful time together. And yet, in countries like the UK, the US, Europe, and many others, people seem more stressed than ever.

There is a tense, forceful energy in the air, a subtle urgency. The feeling of having to get somewhere quickly, to push, to finish, to make things happen.

It reminds me of how I approached so much of my life in the past. Through brute force, relentless forward motion and constant pressure.

I value that warrior spirit. I know what it means to push through resistance and meet life head on. But here is another approach that matters just as much:

When do we allow ourselves to slow down?

When do we let ourselves receive?

When do we allow life to nourish us rather than constantly extracting from it?

There is a principle I learned that changed everything for me, and one I continue to deepen into:

The more you force, chase, and push, the more the very thing you desire seems to slip through your fingers like sand.

Behind force is control, which carries a subtle repelling energy. It creates distance between you and what you desire.

I see this clearly in my work.

I do not chase clients. If someone wants to work with me and it feels aligned, we move forward. If it does not align, I let it go at that moment and never revisit it.

Trying to force an unaligned situation is exhausting. It is like pushing an object uphill while gravity steadily pulls you backward. The harder you push, the heavier the object becomes.

That is the energy of chasing. Constant effort, constant control, constant resistance.

Now, I am not talking about becoming a monk and only “being” all day long. This would be considered dysfunctional if you operate in this modern world.

But we do not have to carry the heaviness and limitation of control and forceful energy in our daily life, in how we relate to one another, in how we create abundance.

For example, when you want to attract a conscious partner, you may try to force it. You sign up for more dating apps, go on more dates, apply more effort. You push and strain, determined to make something work. And you do—just not in the way you hoped. You make endurance work. You make misalignment last.

What you often draw in is simply more of the same energy: more effort, more control, more trying to bend something into shape.

The world does not respond to force. It responds to the energy you carry—to the state of consciousness you live from.

The greatest, most profound shifts almost never happen through intense effort. Effort  can play an important role, but shifts usually happen in moments of total letting go, in moments of deep surrender, as that is when the bridge between us and divine guidance is the strongest.
