Something my clients often tell me is this: Lorin, I appreciate how sharp and direct you are. You always speak the truth. At times it is uncomfortably difficult to hear, but it is life changing.
Why do most people not speak their highest truth?
Because sometimes it costs peace, comfort, and the illusion of harmony. It shakes the field at the highest level.
That uncertainty terrifies the part of us that fears rejection and abandonment.
The mind tries to control this uncertainty. We start to hold back here and there, and soon it becomes our way of being.
We all like speaking our truth when it creates more peace, harmony, and connection. Then it feels great. But the moment it creates a ripple of negativity, we start doubting ourselves, our power drains, and we lose our spiritual center and our roots.
Another client recently told me: Lorin, everyone tries to tell me it is not as bad as it seems. But I know it is. I do not want comfort. I want the truth. You are the only one who tells me to my face that I carry great responsibility for what happened. You do not make it sound less bad. You tell me the truth.
What each of these great souls is expressing is simple. As humans devoted to growth and evolution, we do not want anything but the highest truth. If it stings, perfect. That is where growth lives.
Those who cannot hold this ask you to choose. Do you keep them in your life and accept the consequences? Fair play if you make that choice consciously. No judgment. But it must be a choice. Otherwise there will be needless suffering and disappointment.
I do not believe in forced positivity. I do not believe in pessimism or nihilism. I believe in one thing only. The truth. The root. The core. And if my body shakes in fear and I almost collapse facing a hard truth, I choose to face it. Everything else is noise.
It was not always easy for me. I had my seasons of people pleasing and wanting to be accepted.
Each time I felt a sting in my heart. The sense that I was betraying myself. A nasty feeling in the heart, the gut, the throat, the stomach.
Because every time you hold back outside of specific context and nuance, you reject yourself. That is far worse than being left when you are standing in your truth and in alignment.
I could feel the universe contract each time I did this. As if saying with fierce love, not judgment:
“You are my child. Do not betray your roots.”
So now I tell people. In my groups and in private coaching – there is only one reason to be there: The truth. The core. The root. Everything else is irrelevant.
My question to you is this:
Where are you afraid that speaking your truth will lead to loss?
That is where you are out of alignment. Alignment happens when truth is spoken and lived, out of love. Misalignment happens when truth is withheld, out of fear of loss. Even though the loss might be what is actually in alignment. That is the paradox.
Reflect on this in every area of your life. Then decide. Truth, and truth only.
Everything that follows can be only one thing: Alignment.
