Many of the decisions we make in our intimate lives are fear-based:
• If I speak my truth, others might reject me.
• If I set a strong boundary, others might leave.
• If I embody my truth and disagree, others may no longer like me.
But what does it truly mean to make decisions based on love?
Deciding from love means choosing what is in the highest good for the evolution of the relationship, even if it feels uncomfortable in the short term. It often means rocking the boat or disturbing the peace temporarily to experience true freedom, trust, safety, and intimacy in the long run.
Let me give you an example:
Someone does something that hurts you. To “keep the peace,” you say nothing. In the long run, this silence turns into resentment. Resentment grows into disrespect, eating away at the intimacy and connection between you.
This is a perfect example of how maintaining superficial peace sacrifices the deeper love that could be yours in a relationship.
Now let me ask you:
How would you show up differently in relationships if all your decisions and actions were guided by love?
Imagine, for a moment, there is no fear. How would you show up differently? What would you embody?
The response to these questions shows your true nature—who you truly are.
The paradox is, you must choose love even in the presence of fear. You don’t reach some magical place where suddenly every decision is heart-based. You have to make the choice in the moments of fear—the moments when fear tempts you to hold back.
This courage is nothing less than the deepest spiritual work.
