This morning, during the daily beach walk my wife and I take whenever we stay at our apartment by the sea in Spain, I said to her:
“Lately I have been reflecting about my vision and goals. I’ve arrived at the realisation that while there are many great goals, if it takes time away from you and me, if it does not include you, if it does not include us spending time daily in deep connection, then it is not my highest vision.”
I added:
“Our purpose is to love to the fullest. Everything else is based on this. Everything else rises and falls with this.”
These words came from the depth of my soul. And they touched her too. Her response was that I had spoken words that echoed the feelings in her innermost heart.
It was a divine moment. A meeting of souls.
Yes, we all have goals. Ambitions. Milestones we wish to reach.
But beneath all of it is a deeper longing. A soul’s purpose. To love.
To love now, to the fullest.
To let depth lead.
To stop engaging with the superficiality and unconsciousness of the world and instead create a sacred haven. A life of meaning.
Lately I feel an extraordinary pull into even more depth.
I have always been that way, whether writing poetry as a boy or reflecting on human consciousness as an adult. But the pull is intensifying now.
Because truly:
What is a life without depth?
Without real meaning?
Without love that shakes you to your core?
The kind that makes you laugh until your belly hurts, and cry tears of joy from the sweetness and the sorrow of being alive.
Whatever vision you hold,
Whatever desire you have,
Filter it through this:
Does it create more depth?
Does it embody love?
Does it hold deep meaning?
If not, perhaps it is time for realignment.
It is so easy to get lost in pursuits that, in the end, do not truly matter.
The truth is, it is easier to get lost in life than to consistently and honestly calibrate whether we are truly walking towards our highest vision.
Because in the end, what is our highest vision?
It is a vision of love, of meaning, and of deep soul purpose.
How could it be any other way?
Allow this to move you,
To lead you,
To bring you back into alignment with your highest path.
