How Our Attachment Style Impacts Our Abundance Mindset

Attachment Style and Abundance Mindset

January 24, 2025 //  by Lorin Krenn

Our attachment style directly shapes how we perceive and experience abundance.
The same patterns we see in our intimate relationships often mirror in other areas of life—our relationship with money, self-care, career, and beyond.

For me, abundance is about far more than the money in my account or material possessions owned. It’s about having an abundance of love, freedom, joy, and well-being—a life where you honor yourself, nourish yourself, and embrace opportunities. Money and material wealth are just reflections of a truly abundant mindset.

• If you have an anxious attachment style, you might experience a deep-rooted scarcity mindset—constantly worrying there isn’t enough.
• If you have an avoidant attachment style, you may avoid taking full responsibility for your finances or career, mirroring the way you might distance yourself in relationships.

Your attachment style ultimately shapes your relationship with what matters most: your intimate connections, your purpose, your well-being, and beyond. These are the areas where your patterns are most evident.

A powerful question to ask yourself is this:
How would a secure person approach this?

Whether it’s money, career, or self-care, this question invites you to stretch your imagination and connect to a grounded, secure reality—one where you feel empowered and confident in these areas of life.

When unconscious patterns dominate your intimate life, your relationship with money, or the way you care for yourself, it limits your ability to step into your highest power.

Stepping into your power means creating an empowering and secure relationship with the areas that mean the most to you.

Regardless of whether you lean toward anxious, avoidant, or disorganised attachment, the first step is to ask:

What would the secure version of myself do? How would I show up differently?
From there, it’s about taking courageous action—working on receiving, allowing abundance to flow into your life, and creating a solid foundation.
